On April 14, 2008 there were several bills that were introduced in the House and Senate that would remove and cellular telephone or similar communication equipment from the enumerations of listed property. The issue is whether the Internal Revenue Service’s can treat the use of cell phones and other devices paid for by employers as income to employees, as well as record keeping and data retention requirements imposed upon employers and employees. This would be a good thing because for one it is their company that wants them to have the phone, so there for the company should have to pay for it.
Obama was elected democratic president of the United States on November 4, 2008. He was running against republican candidate John McCain. This made history in the United States because he was the first African American to become President. People truly disagree with him becoming president because they are afraid that something will happen to the country. They are afraid for their lives, but if they would just give him a chance and let him try to prove himself then they could really be opening the world to some new opportunities.
The FDA is overlooking drug companies for making false, unsubstantiated, and misleading claims in their advertising, often of dangerous side effects. The companies are required to submit their advertisement to the FDA, while the agency does not review them before they are released to the public. A Government Accountability Office reported that the FDA reviews only a small portion of the advertisements it acquires. The FDA is asking congress to charge drug companies fees in order to fund FDA review of advertisements before they go public as part of reviewing the Prescription Drug User Fee Act. FDA hopes if congress approves, it will raise more than 6 million dollars annually through “user fees” to review advertisements. So I don’t really know why the FDA would want to be asking for money. How hard is it really to review over advertisements? I don’t agree that they only look over part of them and not all of it. If the drug has some deathly side affects then people should know about it, even if it unlikely to happen.
Obama claimed Hilary Clinton as his Secretary of State for this election for the next four years. She and he could make some good opportunities for the United States. But what everyone is curious about is the fact that Hilary ran against Obama in the democratic election so how will they react when they have some really serious decisions to make.
The salmonella poisoning was a major death rate for the Unites States. People got it from certain kind of tomatoes. Restaurants were limited to the amount of tomatoes because they wanted to test them and see for sure what ones had the poisoning. The symptoms that are common, fever, nausea, dehydration, diarrhea, abdominal pain or cramping and headache. The poisoning lasts usually 4 to 7 days. A way to get rid of it is to drink fluids with mainly electrolytes. This was a horrible situation that happened and I think it was taken care of but I used caution when I ordered my food and made sure there was not any tomatoes on mine.
Car of the Future
Posted on December 8th, 2008 at 9:23 am by angelapearson and tagged car of the future, GM, Volt
The story is saying how GM is trying to build a car called the Volt that basically runs off of electricity or as they call it a plug in vehicle. They are so expensive that manufacturers still have not figured out how to produce the vehicles cheaply enough to make on them. The GM is in debt so far that if they sell this car it will only make them more into debt. If GM wants bailout then they need to be selling smaller cars like sedans and crossovers. The auto industry has gone from feast to famine, which means they liked the bigger vehicles and now it’s just all about the smaller cars, because they get better gas mileage. So if GM wants to continue to sell cars then they need to start going to the smaller cars and not try to be so technological.
The GM industry should just try and do whatever they can to stay out of debt so they don’t claim bankruptcy. Then once they are out of debt they could start and try to make the fancy cars. They really need to look at towards the future. How long will the vehicle really last? How productive will it be, could it hurt someone, there are many things to look at. How much money will it cost people to recharge this vehicle? People don’t think of these things, they just think of how much money the car is worth and how much they will be making.
Hillary becoming Obamas Secretary of State

Hillary Clinton was appointed as the Secretary of State for President Obama. On Monday December 1, 2008 President Obama cleared up all the rumors for us Americans and introduced Hillary Clinton as his secretary. People are just wondering weather they will be a couple to work more together or weather they will clash heads more. Since they both ran for Democrtatic President people are worried how they will communicate working together as one.
Hillary and Obama i think if they wanted to could make a difference in the United States, but just like everybody else is worried about how will their previous campaigning against eachother affect their work now. They may or may not but heads against things, but like i stated once before i think they could make a difference if they set their minds to it.
Bush Evaluation
Posted on December 1st, 2008 at 10:47 pm by angelapearson and tagged 43rd President, Bush, United States, war
Well Bush has been the President for the past 8 years. He was the 43rd President of the United States. He took the U.S. into war, it was agreed upon and disagreed upon by many. That was the major thing that many people hate Bush for. We have been in the war for so many years, almost too many. People just want the troops to come home, but in all reality why should we just give up on what we lost? People do not realize what we lost and that the only reason we are in war is because we just want to get what we deserve. The people don’t like Bush because he has done bad for the economy, well if you think of it, the only reason we have gone bad is because democrats became in the Congress. Now their is a Democratic President and all republicans just hope he knows what he is doing and hope that he does not mess the world up, and maybe help us.
My opinion on the whole Bush being president is that he has done some pretty good things but some of the things we wonder if he was on crack when he made the descisions. I do not really care about the whole republican, democratic thing, but now that I have taken this class and I got to vote and it made me realize that who i vote for will be in control of my country for the next four years of my life, and i will not be able to get those four years back ever so I better start caring. So things are going to start coming alot more clearer to me and I will pay more attention to what is happening in our econmy and with our world because I am not going to have some screwed up african american who can not descide what hes religion is screw up my life. But if we give him the chance maybe he will do some great things for our country. Well it is a little late now, he better do some great things for our country. As to Bush, he did some great things, he took us to war, and we are fighting what we deserve. The people should not get away with what they crashed but once it has been so long it gets old. I think it is almost time to come home. Maybe in a few more years. People say our world is in debt because of Bush, but look how many crisis he had to deal with while he was in office. The war has drained the country for money, Katrina also was a major thing for him, people are still dealing with hurricanes and just mother nature, and the newest thing is the auto businesses. It is everyday life, not the people who are in office. But that is who we will blame it on because they are our best targets.
