Crowley County School District Ballot Initiative 3A
Posted on September 29th, 2008 at 5:10 pm by angelapearson and tagged Crowley County, Initiative 3A
The District is requesting a mill levy of 5.5 mills. It will give enough funds to cover about 85 percent of our current transportation budget or over $180,000. If this ballot is passed it will create a permanent fund for school transportation. By Colorado Law, these funds cannot be used for anything other than transportation. The District is asking for additional funds because the total transportation budget has increased 15 percent the past year. The state reimbursement has remained unchanged for over 10 years. The cost for bus replacement has risen 30 percent during the past 5 years. The benefits of passing a transportation mill levy is savings to the schools general funds can be used to fund programs and facilities for our students. It will cost a resident home with a market vale of %50,000 would see their school taxes raise by approximately $22.00 if this is passed. The local residents will only be responsible for 40 percent of the cost. Over 60 percent will be paid by a commercial business.
My opinion on this mill levy is that, I really think it is a good idea. But I don’t understand a few process, but what I do understand, I do think is a really good idea. It will really help the school and the programs. The kids can’t learn anything if they are not able to go out and experience it hands on, and so if we can’t do the trips because they have to cut down the uses of the bus due to cost of fueling the buses, it will really not be much fun. The sports kids work hard and they are not getting able to go to some of the tournaments because it is too far, so I think if we get this it will be a really good idea. But it could get pretty costly for some people. If you have some people who just built a house and is worth some money and they are have a big family to raise and some payments and all the other stuff, it could cause some issues. But other than that I think it is a really good idea and people should definitely vote yes for this, unless they want to start taking their kids to school and help save some money for the school.
John McCain View on Economy
Posted on September 28th, 2008 at 8:57 pm by angelapearson and
John McCain wants to keep the taxes low. The Republicans have forgotten how to control spending, so he wants to apply surplus to Social Security, Medicare, tax cuts, and debts, ect.
Keeping taxes low is a very good thing. I agree with that. I also agree with them with applying surplus to Social Security, Meicare, tax cuts, and debts, ects, but where is all the money going to come from if they are going to lower the taxes, because the taxes is what helps pay for teachers if it wasnt for that we would all be attending private schools were we would have to pay. Another major thing that he plans to do that will help with the economic problems that we are haveing, he plans on drilling in Alaska and puting forth money torward extracting oil from many of the valuable sorces we have here in America already. I think that this is a good idea do to the fact that it will decimate our dependence on the Middle East.
John McCain’s View on War
Posted on September 18th, 2008 at 7:54 pm by angelapearson and
John McCain’s view on the war is that he wants to send another 21,500 troops to Iraq, and if it fails he has no fallback plan. John wants to increase the troops from between 20 to 40 thousand. He stated that the was has been mishandled for many years. He thinks that America faces a dedicated, focused, and intelligent foe on the war in terrorism. He thinks the enemy will find America’s weakness and strick against them. The United States cannot afford to be complacent about the threat.
My opinion on the war in Iraq is that we need to bring them home. We have spent like seven years over their, still have not cought the guy, he is probablly dead by now, so just bring them home. Their is really no point in sending more people over, all that is causing is more deaths, from both sides of the world. It is all stupid to send more, and if you do send more and something bad happens and you have no backup plan what then? You are screwed! And your life or anybody elses is not worth that. So just bring the troops home and just deal with what has happened. Its not going to change anything. Like i said the guy who set the plot is probablly already dead by now anyways, so whats the point of killing more people?
Sarah Palin

John McCain chose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, to be his running mate. McCain is expected to announce his choice at the Republican National Convention. Palin is the first woman governor of Alaska. She is the youngest elected ever at the age of 42. Sarah Palin has five children one born just recently with down syndrom. She is opposed for abortion, same sex marriage, and she is pro-gun and widely know in Alaska. She has raised taxes on the oil industy, pushed ethics legislation amidst corruption investigation of Alaska lawmakers and limited requests for congressional earmarks after Alaska’s “Bridge to Nowhere” made the state a national laughing stock.
My opinion is that McCain has chosen somone who has little to no experience with the national experience. She has no clue what she is really getting herself into. I agree with her about the abortion. That is wrong nobody should do it. She is stupid for doing the whole tax thing. I dont know why she would want to do that. She has some good potential but i think she may have to much that she doesnt know what all to do with it.
September 11 Terrorist Attack

The 9/11 attack was on of the most devastating event that the country will never forget. Today was the seventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack. Relatives, family members, of the victims killed in the attack all gathered around at ground zero in lower Manhattan for readings from dignitaries and a recitation of the names of the dead. There was moment of silences at 8:46, 9:03, 9:59, 10:29 which were all times when the two hijackers smashed into the world trade center. The loss of many family member will never be forgotten, from big to small, from old to young. They all remember the day, and it affected them all.
The day was never forgotten even from anyone who didn’t lose anyone. I still remember the day just like it was yesterday. It will never be forgotten, many lives were lost in the tragedy, but it was seven years ago people. We have to move on. No matter how many tears are cried or how many days are spent moaping over what happened, it happened, nothing can change it. Nothing is going to bring the people back, nothing is going to change the fact that the planes were hijacked. You just have to move on no matter how sad, your still alive, be happy.
